Local AYL Launch Events Coordinator

Purpose of Assignment
The Short-Term Launch Events Coordinator will provide critical support to AYL prior to and during the formal launch of the Activity.
The Short-Term Launch Events Coordinator will contribute ideas and lead on executing plans and logistics for the AYL Launch Event and AYL Design and Write Lab Workshop (anticipated late February). These events will take place in Phnom Penh and will specifically engage local organizations and institutions working with youth through a wide variety of sectors and programs.
Specific tasks include:
- Work with AYL team to plan the Launch Event and Workshop, aligned with expectations of USAID.
- Develop and manage event planning timeline. Provide regular updates to AYL.
- Lead on developing marketing and promotional materials for the event, including invitations, press release, and production of agreed materials for the events. As agreed with AYL, engage local media to join and cover the Launch Event, in accordance with USAID contractual specifications.
- Lead on all logistical planning for both events, including managing invitations and RSVPs, venue hire, translation services.
- On the event days, act as lead liaison with suppliers (venue, caterers, translation services, etc), trouble-shooting and responding to issues that arise.
- Ensure the proper documentation of all project-supported activities through visual media (e.g. photographs and video) and with USAID logo and disclaimer.
- As required, provide MC function during the Launch Event.
Complete all tasks with approval of AYL.
Location of Assignment
The assignment will be conducted in Phnom Penh. The consultant will be expected to meet with AYL team twice per week in person during planning stage, and attend both events in person.

- Qualifications
- Experience in high profile event planning; experience with USAID events preferred.
- Ability to work both independently and with multiple internal and external stakeholders, prioritise multiple work assignments in an extremely fast-paced environment,
- meet deadlines, and exercise good, professional judgment that reflects positively on the image of USAID/Cambodia AYL.
- Experience and skill in material design and production, including invitations, signage and social media.
- Excellent written communication skills and ability to write concisely both in Khmer and English;
- Ability to respond positively to feedback.
