Under the responsibility of the country representative, Livestock Coordinator will be responsible of ensuring the planning, coordination, reporting, monitoring, and evaluation of the on-going research projects titled 1) BIG Project (Biosecurity in Pig production to control African Swine fever), 2) AfriCam Project and 3) Healthy Territories Project. In coordination with the country representative, s/he will also take an active role in the prospection in Cambodia and the representation of AVSF in key Technical Working Group and stakeholders meeting. This includes also acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and partners in order to deliver the project activities according to the plans.
- General coordination of activity implementation (methodology, work plan...);
- Organization and monitoring of project activities in coordination with the partners/collaborators;
- Ensuring technical and methodological support for all activities, either directly or by mobilizing required skills;
- Setting up the monitoring and evaluation system (M&E) for the Project and supervise its application;
- Implementing field surveys, field visits, participatory workshops and studies;
- Assisting in risk assessment for Zoonotic Disease Emergence, environmental and climate influence;
- Assisting in prevention strategies for risk reduction of zoonotic emergence;
- Assisting in reinforcement of surveillance towards an integrated OH system and development of early detection tools;
- Writing project narrative reports to donors;
- Performing other related tasks (to be detailed in a Job Description).
- Minimum Master’s degree in Veterinary Medicine or in Animal Health and Production Science;
- Experiences in writing article in scientific journal and printing
- At least two years of work experience in animal health and production; experience in research project is an advantage;
- Good understanding of one health concept, environmentally sustainable/green production and diversifications.
- Good facilitation and communications skills;
- Good spoken and written English and/or French;
- Able to work independently in the rural area;
- Ability to enter the position as soon as possible is an advantage.
