Livelihoods for Life (L4L) Project Coordinator

Position Summary

The position will be based in Sampov Loun office, Battambang province.

As a Project Coordinator, you will play a critical role in overseeing and managing Livelihoods for Life project within our organization. The Project Coordinator will supervise the Field Officers and you’ll collaborate closely with another one Project Coordinator and Program Manager in the project to ensure successful project implementation, staff coordination, and timely reporting. Your expertise and leadership will contribute to our positive impact on the communities we serve.

Report to: Livelihoods Program Manager

Contract type: Fixed/Specified Duration

Duration: 1 year (Renewable, subject to funding availability)

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Assist the Program Manager in leading the L4L Project.
  • Facilitate community assessments and beneficiary selections. 
  • Develop a work breakdown plan and keep track of the vulnerable families and the progress made through the project.
  • Identify partnerships with potential buyers, commercial industries, exporters, and middlemen for products produced by the technical livelihoods program.
  • Construct marketing plans based on the current understanding of wholesale market opportunities and problems in Battambang and Pailin (support for local pastors). 
  • Work closely with relevant Government Departments of Battambang to monitor and provide feedback.
  • Manage the project budget along with the Program Manager to ensure correct spending.  
  • Provide technical expertise, advice, and training to project staff and communities. 
  • Regularly visit target villages to monitor the progress of communities, local pastors, train, and provide technical inputs. 
  • Carry out household economic analysis to convey evidence of impact. 
  • Provide reports and analysis of livelihood recommendations to the Program Manager. 
  • Display good team spirit by providing excellent leadership support, mentoring, and coaching for Field Officers of project staff to ensure project objectives are achieved.
  • Develop and keep good track of progress, document challenges, and further planning; report to the program manager and all coordinators.
  • Ensure that all staff and team members have accurate information about project progress, challenges, and further planning.
  • Be a role model and ensure team members grow spiritually and can bring the good news of Jesus to people.
  • Be creative, proactive, and flexible and represent SP and the project.
  • Assists your Program Manager in doing other related tasks as required.
  • Be willing to travel for training, meetings, and networking.
  • Learn and conform to SP’s finance requirements related to project expenses.
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Willing to carry out the vision, mission, and core value of Samaritan’s Purse – International
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience at agriculture/management/advisory level in relevant fields (economics, marketing)
  • At least two years of experience implementing livelihood projects (experience implementing a goat project is desirable).
  • Strong skills in agriculture cooperative established and networking
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Experience in planning, organization, monitoring, controlling, facilitation, training, and coaching
  • Ability to communicate and interact well with people of different ethnic, linguistic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Strong willingness to support team in the field to facilitate livelihood interventions.
  • Strong commitment to achieve the work timely and ensure quality.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, humble and open heart to learn
  • Understanding of migration and trafficking issues
  • Experienced in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
