Librarian
Location: CKS Library, Siem Reap
Duration: Full time with one year contract (with the possibility of extension)
Reporting to: Head Librarian
Salary: Competitive salary based on qualifications
CKS seeks a qualified Cambodian national for the post of Librarian at its headquarters at Wat Damnak in Siem Reap.
- Cataloging and data entry into the CKS library management system, Koha
- Updating the book wish list
- Acquiring new books (online and offline)
- Expanding the photocopy collection
- Providing assistance (in-person and virtually) to library users as requested
- Coordinating library events, including the CKS book fair, contests, talks, workshops, and library training
- Promoting the CKS library and its mission
- Assisting with the library’s annual book inventory
- Initiating, developing, and coordinating programming for the Children’s Library and other activities
- Helping to supervise the Assistant Librarian
- Working closely with the Head Librarian to maintain and expand partnerships with other libraries, as well as local and international partners
- Producing monthly reports for the Head Librarian
- Updating the Library database on a monthly basis
- Required Qualifications
- Cambodian citizen
- Senior year undergrad or Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Management or Information Science
- Some working experience related to libraries or working in the education sector or NGOs would be an asset
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, Internet, Databases)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong interpersonal skills
- The ability to assist library users effectively, both in-person and virtually.
- Strong organizational skills
- The ability to coordinate events and workshops, including book fairs, training sessions, and community engagement activities
- Knowledge of Cambodian history, culture, and society is a plus
- Familiarity with higher education institutions is an asset
