The opportunity
Legal Counsel and Risk Management Officer _ EY Cambodia Office
To support General Counsel Office and Risk Management for EY Indochina (Vietnam, Lao and Cambodia) with focus on Cambodia.
- Legal Counsel – General Counsel Office (GCO)
- Draft, review and negotiate a variety of agreements and contracts;
- Conduct legal research and provide legal advice on various subjects (mainly Cambodia law).
- Manage mandatory reporting, licensing and other regulatory compliance for the Cambodia Office.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to provide legal support for various projects and initiatives (mainly for Cambodia office)
- Risk Management Officer – Risk Management (RM)
- Research on relevant local requirements (mainly Cambodia law) and provide local input on RM-related policies.
- Assist in the development, update and review of key RMpolicies/ documents in accordance with applicable legislation.
- Assist Indochina RM team to formalise/ perform RM compliance program/RM audit.
- Assist Indochina RM team on RM daily tasks (conduct compliance & risk assessments; monitor compliance with the applicable rules and regulations, compliance reviews, and generate relevant documents/reports).
- Deliver training and learning to raise awareness of risk management and compliance programs and tools.
- Analyse and determine our key risks under the Enterprise Risk Management model, in line with EY Global guidelines, and develop relevant recommendations and solutions to mitigate areas of risks.
- Provide advice and respond to queries on RM topics.
- Support Indochina RM team with other ad hoc risk management activities.
- Cambodia bachelor’s degree in law
- At least 3 years of experience in inhouse office or law firm (preference)
- Good command of English, especially in writing and reading
- Highly motivated and responsible
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Detailed-oriented, energetic and teamwork spirit
- Good communication and interpersonal skills

- To qualify for the role you must have
- Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Finance, Economics , Commerce, Business, Law)
- ACCA/CPA designation or Degree in Taxation would be viewed favourably
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years in a professional services/corporate environment, working as a Tax senior
- Strong business acumen
- Exceptional writing and analytical skills
- Sound computer literacy (MS Excel, Word and Power Point essential)
- Ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent written and spoken English

- University students in year 3-4, preferably with an emphasis in English Literature, business administration, business, laws or a related field
