Position Circumstances

Duties & Responsibilities:
- IP Research & Support: Conduct specialized legal research on intellectual property laws, regulations, and case precedents to support IP lawyers and senior advisors.
- Drafting & Documentation: Draft and review IP-related documents, including trademark/patent/copyright applications, licensing agreements, assignment deeds, and franchise contracts.
- Filing & Prosecution: Prepare and manage the filing of applications and responses to office actions at the Ministry of Commerce (Department of Intellectual Property Rights) and the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation (MISTI).
- Portfolio Management: Maintain the firm’s IP docketing system, ensuring all deadlines for renewals, affidavits of use/non-use, and responses are tracked and met.
- Government Liaison: Represent the firm in dealings with government officials and IP registrars under the supervisor’s instruction to follow up on pending applications.
- Administrative Support: Provide secretarial services for the IP department, including taking minutes during client consultations, maintaining an organized legal database, and coordinating translation of legal documents (Khmer/English).
- Enforcement Assistance: Assist in drafting cease-and-desist letters and preparing documents for IP enforcement or anti-counterfeiting actions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by Management.
Expected Profile of Candidates
Languages:
- English - Good
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Law, or higher.
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
- Good common English, both speaking and writing.
- Computer skills, including MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
Soft Skills
- Good communication, commitment, friendliness, and a positive attitude.
- Good attention to detail; practical and commercial approach.
- Be able to work on deadlines and fast learning.
