Position Summary

The position is for Green Cashew Project

DIRECT SUPERIOR : Project Manager- Green Cashew Project

TECHNICAL SUPPORT : Regional Thematic/ MSD Advisor

WORKING WITH : The Project Team, MEL, Thematic Advisor, and Country Office Team

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design, implementation, and quality assurance of the cashew supply chain (Intervention Area # 2) and cashew policy and enabling environment (intervention Area #3) that are economically viable, ecologically sustainable, and socially inclusive.
  • Facilitate business agreements between Agricultural Cooperatives (ACs) and cashew buyers/traders.
  • Facilitate capacity building and coaching for project staff, ACs, and other relevant actors.
  • Work with consultants, market actors, and key stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of the assigned intervention Areas.
  • Design and carry out monitoring activities, including field assessment, data collection, project quarterly review meeting and other relevant M&E tasks for the assigned interventions, and provide regular updates to the Project Manager.
  • Develop annual budget plans for assigned interventions and monitor expenditures.
  • Take part in writing project reports for donors and stakeholders.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and networking among HEKS team, partners, the private and public sectors, and other key stakeholders and contribute to the development of publications, learning materials, and documentaries
  • Contribute to relevant tenders and calls for proposals in consultation with the Project Manager, Regional Director, Country Directors, and Grant Acquisition and Partnerships and Thematic Advisory teams.
  • Assist the project manager with additional tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
  • University degree in agriculture, climate-resilient agriculture, climate change, or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of experience in agricultural market value chains and agri-business, with private sector experience as a plus.
  • Expertise in Market System Development (MSD), Human-Centered Design, and human rights-based approaches.
  • Minimum 4 years of Project Cycle Management experience, including assessment, planning, reporting, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Experience coordinating with Agricultural Cooperatives (ACs), public and private sectors.
  • Ability to conduct assessments, design systemic supply chain business models.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and cooperation skills for working with government, cashew sector stakeholders, and international buyers.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills; good team player with social capabilities.
  • Strong analytical skills, logical thinking, and an innovative, flexible mindset.
  • Willingness to adopt creative approaches, try new methods/ways
  • Willingness to travel to and work on-site at project locations
