Job Summary:
The Philanthropy & Partnerships Officer works in a small team responsible for raising US$1.5 to $2.0 million per year for the Hospital from both individual donors. This role focuses on donors outside of Cambodia. AHC's existing portfolio of individual donors consists of both regular, repeat, and new givers from around the world who contribute to AHC’s mission to improve healthcare for children in Cambodia. This role helps the Philanthropy & Partnerships Team to engage new, existing, and lapsed donors with timely updates and facilitates conversations on renewing and increasing support. The Officer closely supports programme and senior colleagues in building relationships with donors, tailoring individualised proposals and planning for donor engagement activities such as the Hospital on site visits and tours.
AHC has zero-tolerance to Child Abuse, Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA) and Sexual Harassment (SH).
- To provide outstanding stewardship to individual donors, working to make sure donors feel appreciated, updated and understand the impact of their gifts
- Maintain relationships with active and lapsed supporters in order to increase and deepen support while maintaining clear and accurate records in Salesforce
- Work seamlessly with other units in the department and wider organisation on donor appreciation, donor visits, and outreach strategy
- Work with existing supporters and senior volunteers to identify new high-value donors within AHC’s portfolio
- Support the team to build new relationships and gifts across their areas of responsibility
- Conduct desk research to identify and understand existing supporters within AHC’s portfolio with the capacity to give more
- Work closely with AHC’s International Communications Team to customise communications for new, regular, and lapsed donors
- Qualifications:
- Have a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, international development or other relevant fields
- Work experience in business management, communications, public relations, external relations, or related area
- Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent planning, time management, and organisational abilities
- Highly motivated and able to work independently to agreed goals and targets
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in English – excellent grammar and spelling is advantage
- Confident in oral and written communications skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications and demonstrable experience of working with databases and CRMs (i.e. Salesforce) preferred
- Comfortable using LinkedIn to connect with other professionals
- Adaptable and flexible to the changing circumstances and needs of the role, including the flexibility of working hours to ensure coordination with key colleagues and donors in different locations and time zones.
- Able to work under pressure such as meeting key projects and reporting deadline
- Excellent team player and skilled relationship builder, able to build rapport with all stakeholders

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiasm individual to join AHC Domestic Fundraising team based in Angkor Hospital for Children in Siem Reap. The Domestic Philanthropy & Partnerships Officer role requires a passionate and reliable individual who thrives in a team environment, is motivated to meet fundraising targets, and is committed to supporting AHC’s mission to provide high-quality paediatric healthcare in Cambodia.
It is as team of two (02) full-time staff in the Domestic Philanthropy and Partnerships with reporting primarily to the Domestic Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager and will work collaboratively with members of Cambodia Fundraising and Communications team to build processes for outreach and engagement and solicit gifts from mid gift value (under $10,000) individuals and corporates in Cambodia.

- Participate in creating and executing a strategic mid gifts plan, grow and manage a mid-gifts portfolio, and perform mid-gifts administrative tasks to ensure meaningful relationships with supporters, current and future, who have the biggest impact on our ability to execute AHC mission.
- Support the Manager to engage individual donors through face-to-face visits, presentations, and written proposals, collaborating with board members, Advisory members, Executive Committee, and/or Fundraising staff as appropriate.
- Cultivate, solicit, and steward AHC’s most significant supporters and prospects.
- Maintain appropriate electronic documentation on a timely basis, including engagement activities, proposal tracking, contact reports, donor strategies, and forecasting using Salesforces to assure accurate, timely, and consistent communication with partners.
- Build and carry an active portfolio of the assigned donors and prospective donors.
- Inform and educate partners about various programs that will address their philanthropic goals.
- Identify opportunities to deepen engagement with existing supporters.
- Identify new prospective partners (businesses and individuals) and funding sources, determine interest alignment and capacity, and cultivate relationships.
- Assist the Manager to compose creative, persuasive funding proposals and other materials as needed.
- Successfully and consistently, deliver funding proposals to prospective and current donors, providing program reports and updates showing the impact of their contributions.
- Prepare gift annuity contracts and acknowledgments.
- Coordinate the administration of planned gifts.
- Support and participate in donor events such as Meet the Founder as well follow up with all leads and opportunities post events as assigned.
- Maintain deep knowledge of AHC programs and activities by keeping learning more about the update hospital’s information plus the policies and guidelines relevant to PR, Events, and Communications and implement professionally.
- Attend AHC events, as requested, and perform any other appropriated duties and responsibilities, as assigned by the line Manager.
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Business Administration – major in Marketing, or related field.
- Two years experiences in fundraising writing proposal, business management, communications, public relations, external relations, or related area, which should be included finance and banking.
- Working for non-profit organization - working for health care organization is preferred.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Confident to produce and understand written and spoken Khmer and English at professional level.
- A dynamic personality who is pro-active, independent, a quick thinker, able to problem solve ‘on the go’.
- Comfortable with public speaking and able to represent AHC professionally.
- Honest, reliable, and able to multi-tasks – work on many projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work to the strict deadline and under pressure.
- Proficient in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, and Power Point, outlook, and comfortable in using internet.
- Basic knowledge in graphic design with basic skills in InDesign, Photoshop, and Canva program preferred.
- Friendly and ongoing personality, as making key working relationship important.
