Inclusive Education Technical Advisor

Location: Remote position. Based in Cambodia with occasional travel to Phnom Penh and other provinces.
DSI is currently seeking an Inclusive Education Technical Advisor who is experienced in the Cambodian disability sector and has expertise in supporting teachers’ growth and development, to assist with the implementation of DSI’s Training of Trainers curriculum and help continue to build local disability leaders and teachers’ professional capacity and promote inclusive education.
Duration: 6 months, 12 working days per month. Position may be renewable thereinafter.
Salary: Based on expertise and experience.
Reports to: DSI’s Cambodian Program Coordinator
Purpose:
This position will serve as DSI’s educational coach to assist local teachers, school leaders, and others working with children with disabilities to support the objectives of DSI’s disability Training of Trainers curriculum.
Work Environment and Technology Needs
- Remote; no in-country office. Most work time will be spent at partner organization's schools
- Ability to occasionally meet virtually outside of ‘business hours’ and travel in-country
- Access to a reliable computer, internet, and phone
- Provide advisement and mentoring on core teaching practices and behavior intervention strategies to Cambodian disability and education-sector professionals
- Observe, monitor, and assist with tracking DSI trainees knowledge, skills and abilities, related to areas of growth and ongoing needs
- Lead individual and small group check-ins with trainees and stakeholders
- Contribute to DSI’s continued strategic program development and work plans
- Demonstrated relevant/related experience working with children with disabilities, including children with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorders
- Strong communication skills in English and Khmer (written and verbal)
- Experience in a role advising and coaching professionals
- Flexible and able to take initiative, work independently, and meet deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of virtual communication platforms (i.e. Skype, Zoom)
