ICT Intern – Computer Support & Asset Management
Contract Duration: 3 months (renewable based on performance)
THE PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Overall purpose for hiring this intern:
The ICT Intern will support the ICT team in providing general computer and user support, IT asset registration and tracking, and coordination of ICT equipment delivery to Area Program Offices. The role offers practical, hands-on experience in ICT operations, asset management, and field support within an organizational environment.

During the internship, the ICT Intern will gain hands-on learning and exposure to:
- Web-Based Application Development
- Introduction to PHP-based frameworks used in internal web applications.
- Understanding MVC architecture, basic routing, controllers, and database interaction.
- Supporting testing, data entry, and minor enhancements of internal web systems.
- Desktop Application Development
- Exposure to desktop application development using C#.
- Understanding basic application workflows, forms, and database connectivity.
- Databases
- Basic understanding of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
- Learning how application data is stored, queried, and maintained.
- Supporting data validation, backups, and simple reporting tasks.
- Server Administration
- Exposure to Windows Server and Ubuntu (Linux) Server environments.
- Understanding basic server concepts such as user access, services, backups, and security.
- Observing deployment and maintenance of web applications on servers.
- ICT Operations & Best Practices
- Real-world experience in ICT support, asset management, and documentation.
- Understanding ICT policies, information security practices, and operational standards.
- Working with ICT professionals and end-users across multiple offices.
- Provide basic computer and user support, including setup, installation, and troubleshooting of desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
- Assist with installation and basic configuration of operating systems, standard software, and antivirus solutions.
- Support users with day-to-day ICT issues and escalate complex technical problems to ICT Officers when required.
- Register all ICT assets in the asset management database, including serial numbers, user assignment, location, and condition.
- Update and maintain accurate ICT asset records, tagging and labeling equipment according to organizational standards.
- Support periodic ICT asset inventory, verification, and reporting.
- Track ICT assets from procurement to deployment and movement between offices.
- Prepare, coordinate, and document delivery of ICT equipment to Area Program Offices, including handover and user sign-off.
- Maintain ICT support logs, asset tracking records, and related documentation.
- Follow ICT policies, procedures, and information security guidelines.
- Support the ICT team in maintaining an organized, secure, and efficient ICT working environment.
- Undergraduate Degree in 3-year student or recent graduate in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, Windows operating systems, and common office applications.
- Ability to use spreadsheets or simple databases for asset tracking and documentation.
- Good communication skills and a service-oriented mindset.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to follow procedures.
