Happy Chandara School is a French funded NGO created in 2005 that supports 1400 girls coming from underprivileged backgrounds, to access free and quality education from Kindergarten to High School. The girls we support all come from the Preak Thmey (Chbar Ampov) community and this will be your main working location (15 km from Phnom Penh City Center). 

Our services range from medical to material support in order to ensure these girls have all the tools to succeed in their studies and in integrating the formal economy successfully. In this context, we are looking for several dedicated employees to support the students and their families.

Missions

  • Prepare and implement a full educational teaching plan according to the school’s requirements.
  • Provide knowledge and instructions to students while also developing their personalities and wider skillset.
  • Prepare evaluations, materials, exercises and do corrections.
  • Help cultivate students' interest in education and be their dedicated ally in the entire process of learning and development.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Present lessons in a comprehensive manner and use visual/audio means to facilitate learning at an assigned level that may be primary, secondary or high school.
  • Prepare a yearly outline, and update weekly plans.
  • Prepare monthly, trimester and annual assessments, complete the school's monthly and trimester reports and the qualification manual.
  • Write students’ comments based on performance, behavior and progress, and participate in class-consultations.
  • Assign, correct, mark and review the work done by students such as exercises, tests, postcards, etc.
  • Helping to enlarge the perspective of students by introducing and integrating cultures and elements of the world, e.g. Halloween, Pchum Ben, etc. To ensure that students are culturally knowledgeable.
  • Provide advice and guidance to students on educational and social issues, and future careers.
  • Develop and diversify teaching practices, techniques and activities by applying various teaching resources related to the program.
  • Plan and conduct educational activities in the classroom and outdoor instructional activities as well as participating in other ministerial events.
  • Generate and engage educational and constructive projects with Library, Audio and IT teachers to shape their cultural knowledge, creativity and imagination.
  • Advise on the concept of standardized levels, scales of competence and self-assessment proposed by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) in order to determine the level of students.
  • Participate in school meetings.
  • Working with others to plan and coordinate work.
  • Keeping up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum.

Requirements:
  • Required profile
  • Bachelor of Education in English is required. Master’s degree is a plus
  • Native Speakers strongly preferred
  • TESOL certificate is a plus.
  • Certificate of pedagogy is a plus.

Trilingual Executive Assistant

Based at Happy Chandara School, Prek Thmey, Chbar Ampov, Phnom Penh.

Missions

  • Ensure all the translation needs of all the directors of the Happy Chandara school mainly in French and Khmer but also in English.
  • Ensures good communication within the school by performing French/Khmer/English translations and interpret as needed.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Translation
  • Ensure translations for the school management, and at any meeting where the presence of an interpreter is necessary.
  • Translate the evaluation sheets according to the needs, the school report as well as all the necessary documents for the headquarters in Paris.
  • Carry out the translation for communication, subtitles in Khmer for the films produced by the school as well as for any other medium.
  • Translate all internal procedures into Khmer/English/French.
  • Perform all translations required by all departments.
  • Organize and plan all repetitive translations in advance so that maximum efficiency is achieved.
  • Interpreting
  • Assist punctual researchers/doctors/dentists/workers present at school on a temporary basis by interpreting or translating according to their needs.
  • Accompany godparents as interpreters during visits to families if necessary.
  • Accompany staff members for translation in meetings.
  • Other:
  • Where necessary, draw up the minutes of meetings and their translation where appropriate.
  • Organize and participate in school events, seminars, trainings, outings and activities that can take place on weekends or evenings.

HR Development Manager

Main missions

Define and implement the HR development strategy, provide professional leadership and manage the HR team within the framework provided by management. Provide reports on various HR topics to the management team (including conflict management, recruitment, training, legal affairs, ...)

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Human Resources Management:
  • Define and implement a strategy that is consistent with organizational objectives
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of HR professionals
  • Liaise with other departments to implement management policies
  • Collect and respond appropriately to operational HR needs
  • Be accessible and attentive to represent the interests of the employee to management and vice versa.
  • Modernize current procedures to improve the employee experience and optimize the use of resources.

Program Description

The Open Student’s Mind Program (OSM) is a school-developed curriculum designed to develop key values and skills that will help students in their adult lives.

It integrates general culture, IT, library and audio-visual, uses a "project based learning" approach and wants to be anchored in the reality of Cambodian society.

Missions

Ensure the coherence of the department and its pedagogy. Provide leadership and guidance to a team of dedicated teacher-librarians, including the OSM coordinator, the subject supervisors and the teaching team.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Support and develop the skills and professionalism of the OSM team
  • Ensure teaching of OSM class grade 11 and 12
  • Ensure the sound operational implementation of the various outside-the-classroom OSM projects
  • Develop the curriculum and pedagogy of OSM program.
  • Implement the review of OSM pedagogy at HCS
  • Library management
  • Set up the collaboration between OSM and other departments
  • Any other task assigned by management.
