Green Cashew Project Manager
FUNCTION: Project Manager (PM) of Green Cashew Project
Place of employment: Phnom Penh
WORKING WITH: All Cashew Project staff, Head of Finance, Admin and HR, DCD, HEKS/EPER service providers/partner organizations.
- Overall responsible for effective management and implementation of the project, incl. planning, budgeting, administration, staff management, monitoring/evaluation and knowledge management and the development of narrative reports as needed based on HEKS/EPER project cycle management and donor requirements.
- Lead the design and implementation of interventions to strengthen the cashew supply chain (Intervention Area # 2), and cashew policy and enabling environment (intervention Area #3), to ensure the cashew sector is economically viable, ecologically sustainable, and socially inclusive.
- Guide and support project team (several Field/Intervention Coordinators) for planning and implementing the project intervention activities according to project outcomes/outputs.
- Oversee the overall security and safety management of project’s staff, operations and assets.
- Financial management: responsible for the project finances and financial reports. Checking, understanding and approving the financial reports (e.g. budget, income statement, cash flow) for the project
- Facilitate the Strengthening of Team Capacities in Key Working Approaches (MSD, HCD, HRBA, etc.)
- Coordinate with the Finance Unit to Conduct the Project's Annual Audit, Ensuring acceptable quality. Address any Audit Findings by Implementing Recommendations within a Reasonable Timeframe.
- Ensure the Project Has an Effective MRM System in Place. Lead Project Monitoring Activities, Including Regular Data Collection and Quarterly Review Meetings. Facilitate Learning, Sharing, and the Preparation of Project Reports (Quarterly, Annual, etc.).
- Lead the development of concept notes and project proposals for future phases and acquisition. i.e. Actively network and engage with stakeholders in the cashew and related Sectors. Gather information on tenders, initiatives, and fundraising opportunities, and communicate relevant insights to the Country Director, Regional Director, and HQ Acquisition Officer.
- Support HQ fundraising team in developing proposals for foundations. Provide relevant information to HQ fundraising and communications team as needed. Also participate or lead acquisition activities at project/country if required.
- Building and maintaining good relationships with strategic partners, national-sub-national governments, and key institutional stakeholders and fostering knowledge sharing.
- Master’s degree in agriculture, agri-business, business administration or another related fields.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in agricultural market/value chain development and agri-business and especially experience in cashew nut sector in Cambodia is a strong advantage. Experience in private sector is a plus.
- Ability to ensure that internal and external stakeholders understand and duly follow HEKS/EPER’s procedures and guidelines.
- Excellent analytical and conceptual skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project management.
- Strong leadership skills and minimum 4 years' experience in leading a team
- Experienced in planning, monitoring and evaluation of projects including research, documentation, and case study preparation.
- Professional, cooperative, efficient and effective, positive working attitude
- Acquisition experience is a plus.
- Experienced in coordination and guidance of service providers and local partner organizations
