The Market Solutions Grant Program

The Market Solutions program offers grant funding to support the development and implementation of promising solutions to respond to the challenges in the agriculture sector at agricultural production, agro-processing, market access and buyer requirement levels, specifically in the following focus areas in three markets:

Traditional market

• Adoption of commercially viable climate-resilient or climate-smart agriculture (CSA)
• Improved availability of safe and nutritious food
• Reduced food waste at wet markets

Modern market

• Improved supply chain management
• Increased sales of safe, high-quality, products
• Increased competitiveness in modern retail channels

Export market

• Export market development
• Export readiness

Grant award amounts are anticipated to range from $75,000-$150,000, depending on the scale of activities and the expected results. Grant activities are envisioned to be implemented during a period of 9-11 months, depending on the award date.

Eligible Parties

This program is primarily directed at private sector entities, including agricultural federations, agricultural unions, agricultural cooperatives, farmer associations, processors, wet market operators, exporters, supermarket, retail shops, hotels, restaurants, agricultural online shops, and service providers (distributers, suppliers, logistics/transport companies). NGOs or others promoting for-profit approaches are also eligible to apply.

All entities must be registered in Cambodia and may be either Cambodian or foreign owned. Any firm that does not adhere to Cambodian policies on deforestation or reduction of greenhouse gas emissions is ineligible to receive a grant award from Harvest III.
