Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager to lead TapEffect in its mission to provide last-mile communities in Cambodia with reliable piped water solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in business management. The General Manager will be responsible for overall operational excellence, stakeholder engagement, and financial performance.
- Strategic Leadership:
- Execute the company's strategic vision, ensuring alignment with TapEffect's mission and values.
- Manage staff and operations to ensure milestones are achieved in a collaborative environment.
- Provide leadership in the development and implementation of innovative solutions to business delivery.
- Operational Excellence:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of TapEffect, ensuring efficiency, quality, and best practice.
- Delegate responsibilities to employees to perform them while ensuring that the team follows policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, training programs, and cultural values.
- Collaborate with the teams to ensure professionally managed systems and water supply.
- Ensure the engineering team meets their milestones in business development, design and operations.
- Maintain project milestones to ensure tasks are accomplished on time.
- Assign performance goals and assure their completion.
- Development of processes for efficient operations and data collection.
- Financial Management:
- Ensure strong business administration, tax compliance and professional accounting.
- Ensure professional systems for revenue collection and reconciliation.
- Ensure efficient operations to maximize profitability while maintaining affordable water services for last-mile communities.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Foster positive relationships with government agencies, NGOs, local communities, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance and community support.
- Represent TapEffect at conferences, and partnerships to enhance the company's profile and fundraising.
- Sales and Marketing:
- Manage and build the sales and marketing team to increase customers, household water usage and customer satisfaction.
- Team Leadership:
- Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Provide mentorship, professional development, and performance feedback to team members.
- Support team members to understand priorities and work collaboratively.
- Provide guidance and feedback to help others strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas.
- Site visits to identify opportunities for improvement and collaborate with site staff.
- The ideal candidate is someone that has:
- Strong team and leadership skills
- Strong business administration and accounting skills
- Khmer and English language proficiency
- Strong experience in a managerial/operations role
- Ability to motivate and lead people, and hold employees accountable
- Ability to set tasks and create priorities
- Strong decision-making capabilities
- Operations/Sales/Accounting/Financial management experience
- Experience in finance/accounting/tax compliance/business administration
- Fundraising, marketing experience or other related experience
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business management, finance or a related field
- Experience in finance/accounting/tax compliance
- Khmer and English language proficiency
