Position Overview
We are looking for a freelance software developer to build and maintain web- and server-side applications. You will be working on projects for clients in the U.S. and Cambodia.
Primary technologies include PHP, Python, MySQL, Javascript, HTML, CSS, Linux, and Git. Other technologies may be used depending on the client requirements.
This is a remote-only position, so you are free to work in any location.
Schedule: Monday - Friday; 40 - 44 hours per week
Contract Term: This is a 6-month contract with the possibility to extend longer.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design and develop new software programs and applications
- Produce clean, efficient code based on specifications
- Integrate software components and third-party programs
- Verify and deploy programs and systems
- Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing software
- Communicate daily through Slack or video call
- Experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer or similar role
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
- Knowledge of coding languages (e.g. PHP, Python, JavaScript) and frameworks/systems (e.g. MySQL, JQuery, Wordpress, AngularJS, Bootstrap, Git)
- Experience with Laravel is a plus
- Ability to learn new languages and technologies
- Good communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to troubleshoot and research solutions
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
