Finance Assistant (1 Position)
Report to : Senior Finance Officer
Position Purpose:
The Finance Assistant is responsible for bookkeeping, accounting, financial management and assisting Head of Finance Cambodia in the day-to-day running and management of the finance department; completing delegated administrative tasks and ensuring the accuracy and maintenance of supporting documentation and accounting systems.
- Detailed Responsibilities:
- Recording of transactions on the accounting system, completion and review of cashbooks and ensuring that all transactions are validated / balanced and send to the Senior Finance Officer as per calendar deadlines
- Assist in monitoring of budget implementation by verifying budget availability for all purchase requests, in line with MAG procurement policies, and in consultation with Senior Finance Officer.
- Ensure that accurate and complete accounting, reporting and internal control systems are functioning and that all relevant records are maintained.
- Ensure compliance with all finance guidelines, policies, procedures and regulations of MAG and MAG’s donors.
- Analyse monthly expenditure to identify any trends or anomalies. Raise any concerns regarding expenditure or budgets.
- Assist in preparing the statement of the weekly/monthly cash count of the cash book
- Join at internal and external meetings when requested by HoFC
- Assist in recording all transactions related to Tax, VAT and Withholding tax and record Tax return list to be submitted to General Department of Taxation (GDT).
- Support the internal, external, donor audit document and follow up on all auditor findings and recommendations
- Ensure accuracy of the data (such as donor code cost centre natural code) entered in database.
- Report any areas of concern, or financial non-compliance to the Senior Finance Officer as soon as possible.
- Perform other related duties as required.

- On occasion, work outside regular working hours as circumstances dictate.
- Essential qualifications, experience and skills
- High proficiency in accounting and finance skills.
- Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and Finance or other related field.
- 2 years experiences in working with an NGO or other related field in finance management
- Excellent communication and team building skills
- Good Data Analytical skills
- Good written, and reporting skill in English
