Field Officer
Report to : Project Coordinator
Contract type : Fixed/Specified Duration
Duration : 1 year (Renewable, subject to funding availability)
- Driving Responsibilities:
- Safely operate project vehicle to transport staffs, equipment and materials to designated communities.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and safety standards while driving.
- Ensure the proper maintenance and cleanliness of the vehicle at all times.
- Monitor fuel consumption and maintain accurate records of mileage and fuel expenses.
- Field Operations and Implementation:
- Assist the project team in implementing field activities, including training sessions, community outreach, and health education programs.
- Assist in mobilizing communities and ensuring their participation in the project’s health and wellness initiatives.
- Assist with conducting needs assessment in operating vehicle to remote villages, and help facilitate discussions.
- Engage with community members in a respectful and culturally sensitive manner.
- Distribute informational materials and resources to community members as directed by the project team.
- Health Care Training Support:
- Support the coordination and delivery of training programs for healthcare professionals and village volunteers as needed.
- Ensure that all necessary materials and resources are available for training sessions.
- Assist trainers and facilitators during training events, ensuring smooth operation and active participation from attendees.
- Community Outreach and Health Education:
- Work with village volunteers and health care professionals to implement community outreach programs that increase awareness of health services and preventive care.
- Support the delivery of health education sessions in villages, schools, and community centers, ensuring culturally appropriate communication.
- Engage community members in discussions on health issues and gather feedback to inform program improvement.
- Data Collection and Reporting:
- Collect and record data from field activities, including training attendance, outreach program participation, and community health outcomes as needed.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry for monitoring and evaluation purposes.
- Provide regular updates to the Project Coordinator on field activities, challenges, and community needs.
- Stakeholder and Community Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local healthcare providers, village leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure effective coordination of activities.
- Act as the primary point of contact for community members and volunteers involved in the project as needed.
- Help facilitate meetings and discussions between project stakeholders and the local community to encourage collaboration and feedback.
- Logistics and Resource Management:
- Assist in loading and unloading equipment, materials, and supplies onto the vehicle.
- Ensure that all equipment and materials are securely fastened and properly stored during transportation.
- Any other tasks assigned by supervisor.
- Problem-Solving and Issue Resolution:
- Identify challenges in the field and work with the Project Coordinator to find solutions that ensure the successful implementation of project activities.
- Address any issues or concerns raised by community members or volunteers in a timely and professional manner.
- Commitment to Samaritan’s Purse’s vision, mission, value and policies.
- Familiarity with road safety regulations and traffic laws in Cambodia.

- At least 4 years’ experience in driving vehicles, preferably in rural areas.
- Required to have valid Vehicle Category B Driver License
- Cambodian national with bachelor degree or university student in public health, health management, or a related field. Relevant experience may be considered in place of formal qualifications.
- Experience working in a field-based role, with an understanding of local community dynamics and challenge.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse groups, including healthcare professionals, community leaders, and local residents.
- Basic knowledge of data collection and reporting processes.
- Fluency in Khmer is required; ability to speak, read and write in the English language.
