General Descriptions
The ELC certification trainer is responsible for creating and implementing systems and resources for Bloom Asia’s ELC Training program. The ELC Training Program operates with the overarching goals of providing early learning skills, practical experience and certifications for Bloom Asia’s program participants.
The ELC certification trainer work and committed to implementing the Freedom Principles within each stage of a program participant’s training, supporting each program participant to move towards sustainable employment and wellness in their lives. Key to the position is the development of training resources and the mentorship of vocational trainers in their trauma-informed support of program participants.
The ELC certification trainer works alongside the Vocational Training Program Manager and reports to the Country Director. The overarching focus for all Bloom Asia employees is to achieve Bloom’s core mission in all current and emerging programs, which is ensuring that survivors of commercial sexual exploitation are provided with high-quality training and employment in the healing, creative and supportive environment that Bloom Asia is known for.

- Supporting the Country Director and Management Team in fostering Bloom’s culture of leadership development.
- Championing the five Freedom Principles of Movement, Assessment, Empowerment, Support and Differentiation within Bloom’s leadership staff and program participants.
- Specific
- ELC Certification Development (Key Freedom Principle: Empowerment)
- Development of multi-year early learning courses, primarily in the fields Early Learning including:
- Curricula,
- Training modules:
- foundation of teaching
- human development
- child development/brain development
- philosophy of education
- classroom management
- milestones in children
- play development
- social and emotional learning
- trauma-informed education
- technology
- Lesson plans,
- Schedules,
- Resources and
- assessments
- Engage with relevant government ministries to register training courses as certified training which is recognised within Cambodia and ASEAN.
- Regularly research industry best-practise and change course material as its needed to ensure program participants will graduate with up-to-date certifications.
- Coordinate with the Vocational Training & Trauma Support Program Managers and Country Director to include training courses in Bloom Asia’s MOU registration with MOE.
- Course implementation
- Deliver training courses to Bloom Asia’s program participants.
- Manage a set budget for training resources, supplies and trainee support.
- Teach classes and model consistent and high standards of teaching to your team of trainers.
- Implement and deliver course material in a professional, efficient and trauma-informed manner.
- Ensure and committed to the Freedom Principles in your work.
- Ensure examinations are conducted under course-approved conditions.
- Arrange certificates through relevant Ministries and coordinate graduations of successful program participants.
- Coordination with the ELC curriculum director
- OSCaR (Key Freedom Principles: Measurement + Differentiation)
- In partnership with the Pathways Coordinator and Trauma Support Program Manager, ensure each program participants vocational skills journey is recorded in OSCaR.
- Case Meetings (Key Freedom Principles: Differentiation & Support)
- Represent the ELC Certification Trainer team in Case meetings.
- Ensure all relevant client case information is reported within case meetings.
- Centre management
- Oversee and outwork centre management duties as outlined in their Position Descriptions.
- English - Fluent
- Education or psycho-social focused degree or experience.
- Experience in project management.
- Experience in managing a team.
- Experience in developing and teaching training programs.
- Leadership skills – are you someone people want to follow?
- Experience in collecting, recording and reporting sensitive case information.
- Proficient computer skills (especially Microsoft Office programs, Excel & Word) are essential
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Early childhood education or elementary experience
- IEYC program pedagogy
- Possible international school experience
- Mature Christian faith
- Disciplined with priorities and reliable in completion of tasks
- Professional presentation in demeanour, written and oral communication
- Works well under stress with sustained positive attitude
- Strong ethic of service and a passion for survivors of trafficking
- Team player - able and willing to work in multi-cultural, professional teams.
