Announcement Description

CNV Internationaal Foundation is part of the National Confederation of Trade Unions CNV in the Netherlands. CNV Internationaal has worked with trade unions in low and middle income countries since its establishment in 1967. Our mission is to reach 100% Fair Labour, through the principles of international solidarity and social dialogue. CNV Internationaal works on strengthening of the position of workers in both the formal and informal economy through strong social partners and promoting sustainability in the supply chain.

Living wage is key in finding solutions and addressing root causes to a number of core challenges in various supply chains, in particular the textile industry. The absence of Freedom of Association and social dialogue limits one of the most important and innovative ways to gather and validate data, safeguarding sustainable change.

CNV Internationaal, together with its trade union partners in Cambodia, created the participatory digital survey to improve labour conditions in the textile value chain. By applying the Harvard University-developed digital software KoboToolBox, we designed a labour survey on working conditions and social dialogue through an extensive network of unions. With this unique tool, our partner trade unions can monitor labour relations on the ground and allows for the worker’s voices to be heard.
