Data Analyst
Objective
In Cambodia, this project aims to use collect data directly from workers to gain insight into the cost of living, existing wages and key working conditions within the textile sector. The gathered data is also cross checked with internationally accepted living wage benchmarks and methodologies. Data gathering will be conducted and supported by workers via the KoboToolbox, by labour unions, and secondary economic- and social data analysis. The implementation will be from February 2023 till September 2023.
Time frame
The assignment is scheduled from March till September 2023 (8 months) with a possibility of extension. The consultant is expected to work 2-3 days a week. We are looking for a candidate that can start as soon as possible.
- In order to continue scaling up the project, the Data Analyst will work together with the project manager and national coordinator of CNV on the participatory digital monitoring project in its three phases; the build-up phase, the roll-our phase and the closing phase. The consultant is expected to work closely with CNV's partner unions in this project. The following responsibilities apply:
- The consultant will assist in adjusting the survey based on the findings of Phase 1 of the project and stakeholder consultation
- The consultant will lead in the data collection process and conduct analysis of the data collected.
- The consultant will strengthen the capacity of the partner unions through trainings/workshops on data collection and analysis.
- The consultant will play a key role in strategic stakeholder engagement and managing the project locally
- Deliverables
- For the duration of the project, the consultant is expected to:
- Identify points of improvement of the survey based on previous findings, stakeholder consultation and other living wage benchmarks.
- Lead the data collection process and be able to do a thorough analysis if the data collected.
- Conduct trainings to strengthen the capacity of unions to collect data through the digital survey.
- Contribute to strategic stakeholder engagement and manage the project locally.
- At least a research-based Bachelor’s degree
- At least 3 years’ experience in conducting research and data analysis, preferably in non-profit international entities (NGOs, donors, UN Agencies);
- Familiar with data analysis tools such as R, Tableau or SPSS.
- Speaks and writes fluent Khmer and English, incl. for small translation tasks
- Project management experience considered a plus
- Experience with strategic stakeholder engagement considered a plus
- Knowledge of living wage, labour rights and trade unions considered a plus.
