Consultant to Support the Implementation of Cashew Supply Chain, and Market Development for Cover Crop Seeds

- Position: Support the implementation of cashew supply chain, and market development for cover crop seeds.
- Insurance: General Personal Accident (GPA).
- Contract period: 7th April 2025 to 31st December 2025.
- Gross Monthly Salary:1,500$ - 2,000$
- Role 1: Market System Development and Supply Chain Strengthening (both organic and conventional cashew nut supply chain); With increasing competition and new entrants (both from the private sectors as well as from the development agencies) in the cashew sector, explore new market venue/opportunities; leverage current approach of the interventions/implementation—emphasizes the need for constant engagement and adaptability to ensure the project interventions align with new developments and take advantage of emerging opportunities in the cashew sector.
- Analyze market trends and identify new business opportunities for both organic and conventional cashew supply chains.
- Strengthen existing interventions to remain competitive amidst increasing sector participation from private and development actors.
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement to enhance supply chain efficiency and sustainability.
- Ensure adaptability of project interventions to align with emerging opportunities and industry changes.
- Support partnerships between cashew farmers, processors, exporters, and other value chain actors to improve market access.
- Role 2: Support the ongoing development of a dynamic, sustainable market system for cover crop seeds, with a focus on three key scaling objectives: (1) encouraging wider adoption of cover crops among smallholder farmers, (2) expanding the network of stakeholders in seed production, distribution, and sales, and (3) fostering stronger integration of regional players in Cambodia's regenerative agriculture sector.
- Promote wider adoption of cover crops among smallholder farmers through awareness and capacity-building initiatives.
- Expand the cover crop seed network by engaging stakeholders in seed production, distribution, and sales.
- Strengthen the integration of regional players in Cambodia’s regenerative agriculture sector.
- Develop business models that encourage long-term sustainability in the cover crop seed market.
- Facilitate linkages between farmers, seed producers, and agricultural input providers to enhance seed accessibility.
- Role 3: Support the policy and business enabling environment in Cambodia’s cashew sector
- The emergence of new cashew actors from both the private sector and development agencies—driven by the government’s focus on the cashew industry through the national cashew policy—presents an evolving landscape.
- Looking into—but not limited to—these two key actors, the Cambodia Cashew Federation (CCF) and the Cashew Association of Cambodia (CAC), identify collaboration opportunities, ways to crowd in new stakeholders, and potential areas to build upon in order to maximize the sector’s development in line with the government’s priorities and the evolving market dynamics.
- Actively engage with key industry stakeholders, including the Cambodia Cashew Federation (CCF) and the Cashew Association of Cambodia (CAC), support their annual priorities plan to align sector growth with national policy objectives and emerging market dynamics.
- Identify opportunities for collaboration and stakeholder engagement to support industry growth.
- Facilitate dialogue between public and private sector actors to align with national cashew policy objectives.
- Promote an inclusive business environment that attracts investment and strengthens sector competitiveness.
- Support policy recommendations and initiatives that enhance the overall enabling environment for the cashew industry.
- Other project responsibilities:
- Support a process to identify gaps and needs to further strengthen and scale up interventions for the project—leveraging project position in a competitive, innovative, and cost-efficient efficiency.
- Technical assistance and quality assurance with the design, implementation, and monitoring of (new) business models/interventions.
- Train and mentor project staff and partners on relevant project topics, support the project implementation, ensure high-quality deliverables, and meet targets with cost-effective and innovative approaches.
- Support project activities monitoring, collecting data, and other information as per the M&E plan, such as baseline studies, case studies, and other studies related to M&E purposes.
- Support Project manager with concept notes/project ideas, calls for proposals on respective thematic fields.
- Promote knowledge sharing and networking among HEKS partners, relevant NGOs, other key stakeholders.
- University degree in agriculture/climate-resilient agriculture, climate change, or related subject.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in agricultural market/value chain development and agribusiness, agroecology/regenerative agriculture. Experience in the private sector is a plus.
- Specific knowledge and experience in market system development, inclusive business, and regenerative agriculture.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, including planning, monitoring & evaluation, organizing effective/high-level meetings, and donor reporting.
- Experience in coordinating and guiding project partner organizations, public and private sectors.
- Strong communicator, ability to guide and mentor (communication, facilitation, and presentation skills), good team player, and social capabilities.
- Professional, cooperative, efficient, and effective working attitude
- Flexible and creative working approach and willingness to try new methods/ways.
- Fluency in English and Khmer, both written and oral— with IELTS 5.50—is
- preferably.
- Willingness to travel to and work at project sites.
Green Cashew Project Intern (1 Position)
What you can expect from us:
- Working with the Green Cashew Project
- Allowance of $250 per month.
- Period: 9 months (April –December 2025)

- Understand about the project activities and how to work with the community
- Assist in supporting farmers and farmer groups in the local areas.
- Help gather basic information and data on local agricultural practices, especially regarding cashew farming.
- Support the coordination of activities with local partners, including market actors and farmer groups.
- Assist in the facilitation of small workshops or meetings with farmers and local stakeholders.
- Help monitor and report on local farming activities, including harvests and post-harvest practices.
- Assist in collecting data for small research or surveys to improve local agriculture practices.
- Assist with logistical tasks related to field visits and monitoring activities in rural areas.
- Provide basic support to the project team with administrative tasks and reporting.
- Fresh graduate bachelor’s degree or equivalent in agriculture, business, or related fields.
- Some experience (or interest) in agriculture, agri-business, or business development is a plus.
- Basic understanding or interest in cashew farming and agricultural supply chains.
- Willingness to learn and work in a rural environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse teams.
- Ability to work under supervision, be flexible, and willing to help where needed.
- Willingness to travel and support field activities as required.
- Ability to communicate in English is a plus but not required.
