According to AFD Strategic Goal #1- To increase climate resilience of the local communities by improving natural resource condition, environmental, biodiversity conservation, and watershed management. Under partnership with DCA funded by Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation (SDC ) and Irish Aid (IA ), AFD implements a project named “Land Access and Protection of Indigenous and Natural Resources (LAPNIR).” which contributes to the protection of land rights and ongoing access to/availability of natural resources for target populations that will benefit to around 8,340 (4,160 women) beneficiaries and 25,020 (12,510 women) indirect beneficiaries in Kampong Thom and Preah Vihear. The project starts from January 1st 2024- September 30, 2027.
The project look for a qualified local Freelancer/consultant to conduct a research study on legal frameworks or policies related to land law and indigenous community land tittle that have been implemented in Kampong Thom and Preah Vihear provinces, investigating the indigenous people’s rights’ violation cases with the following objectives and then develop a policies brief as project knowledge documentation to be published and disseminated to all relevant stakeholders.
Key Deliverable Outputs of the study
- Legal research & analysis and produce policies brief and recommendations on national legal framework analyses related on any violation to land and natural resources rights (Activity A.1.1.3)
- Development of case studies based on investigating cases on land rights violation in the project target areas. (Activity 1.2.3)
- A developed Evident-based advocacy tool based on research findings and recommendations.
Contract Length: One half Months (from 10th May 2024 to 20th June 2024)
