Announcement Description

The WWT is a conservation charity that protects wetlands for wildlife and people. We conserve, restore and create wetlands. For over a decade we have worked in Cambodia to conserve and restore key wetland areas, balancing conservation with sustainable livelihoods and influencing national and international conservation policies. Our programme has been working closely to support local communities and relevant stakeholders to support their capacity building to enhance effectiveness in addressing community challenges.

Recognizing the necessity for effective financial management among CPA members and Red Jasmine committees at the grassroots level, the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust (WWT) has initiated a capacity-building program aimed at enhancing basic financial literacy in bookkeeping and reporting for targeted local communities in AP. This is supported by the L’OCCITANE Foundation, a donor dedicated to fostering financial health and effective operational management of business models that promote sustainable development and conservation efforts along the way.

The training aims to empower local leaders with essential skills to plan and manage a strong financial system, ensuring transparency, accountability and long-term sustainability. By enhancing these financial capabilities communities will be better knowledge to allocate resources effectively and foster a healthy financial management system that supports sustainable growth and resilience.

Overall objective: To equip beneficiaries with theory and management skills in finance to help them make informed financial decisions, both in their households and potentially in their community business models of ecotourism and rice mill. This component is particularly important to achieve lasting change in financial behaviours of their business models in leading sustainable development and conservation efforts.
