Live & Learn Environmental Education Inc is complying with/promoting (describe codes of conduct/safeguarding) as well as safeguards.

The Project:

The Angkor Water Resilience activity proposes to strategically rehabilitate and adapt the Angkorian hydraulic system through grey (hard) and green (soft) water infrastructure to support water management, including irrigation, which will mitigate flood and drought across the landscape. With increasing climatic changes, the water infrastructure may support mitigation, especially by moving water across the landscape, it is, however, not able to completely stop extreme flood and drought events.

To maximise the benefits of the water infrastructure, riparian planting (green infrastructure) will also be implemented. This includes planting the edges of the canals and dykes that are being restored. This planting reduces the erosion of the canal banks, provides shade and habitat for fish production, and provides benefits for communities. The riparian planting will also include edible tree species facilitating access to traditional foods that have been lost from the landscape. These nurseries have supported green infrastructure, replanting over 80ha, and now orientated towards revegetation within the park. This program will see the development of two new nurseries to facilitate the tree and plant production.
