Consular and Passports Officer
Locally Engaged Staff – Level 4
Under general direction, the Consular and Passports Officer will provide the full range of consular services and advice to Australians living and travelling in Cambodia in accordance with the consular services charter and Australian Governmental guidelines.
This position is available in May 2022, and after an initial three-month probationary period, the successful candidate may be offered a 24-month contract, with the possibility of renewal and ultimately permanent employment.
A competitive salary package is offered, including participation in a performance management and bonus scheme. The basic monthly salary range for the position is USD1,332 to USD1,616.
- The successful candidate will:
- Provide consular service and act as the first point of contact on consular cases, liaise with relevant authorities, undertake consular visits, manage the register of Australian Citizens database, undertake specified notarial duties, maintain case statistics and assist with reviewing travel advisories.
- Provide passport services to Australian citizens and report on consular cases in a timely manner and update consular and passport management systems.
- Maintain financial and accountable documents in accordance with regulations and ensure appropriate travel documents stocks are held at post.Operate independently when acting as the on-call Consular and/or Passport Duty.
- Co-ordinate and report on Workplace Health and Safety, community warden network, federal elections, and other programs.
