Project background

RECOFTC Cambodia is implementing the project “Strengthening Cambodia’s Community Protected Area (CPA) networks for smallholders and local communities” to support CPA networks in Cambodia. Packard Foundation funds the project.

The project builds skills, shares information and offers technical assistance to CPA networks to mobilize their collective voice for making livelihood and conservation gains that benefit Cambodia’s smallholders. The project contributes to Cambodia’s Agriculture Livelihood and Conservation (ALC) strategy by facilitating networking and information sharing among leaders at the center of the smallholder-livelihood-conservation nexus. In this way, it builds the capacity of CPA smallholders in Cambodia to realize their potential as a well-networked community and influence policymakers, and development and conservation actors.
