Announcement Description

The Wildlife Conservation Society, founded in 1895, has the clear mission to save wildlife and wild places across the globe. WCS's goal is to conserve the world's largest wild places in 16 priority regions, home to more than 50% of the world's biodiversity. We currently manage about 500 conservation projects in more than 60 countries.

WCS has been working in partnership with the Royal Government of Cambodia since 1999, providing technical advice and support for the conservation of key habitats and species across the country.

The WCS Cambodia program is growing rapidly! We are expanding our team and are looking for applications from qualified candidates to fill the following positions. Detailed job descriptions for each position are attached.

Position Summary

Duty Station: Sen Monorom, Mondulkiri Province

Expected Profile of Candidates
Languages:
  • English - Good
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in rural development, agriculture, environmental science, natural resource management or related field.
Work History:
  • At least experience in community development and natural resource management with a non-profit organization for 2 years
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
  • Good Computer (MS Words, Excel and PowerPoint).
Soft Skills
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, coordination skills, a good understanding resource. management in the rural context. 
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, ability to work independently as part a team.
  • Good speaking, reading, and writing skills in English.
  • Bunong language is a plus.
  • Good analytical/problem solving critical thinking skills.

Position Summary

Languages:

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in natural science, environment, land management and land administration
Work History:
  • At least of experiences working in a similar position, in particular experiences in protected area management in Cambodia as well as spatial monitoring for 3 years
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
  • Experience with natural resources management or conservation.
  • Experience in SMART software and GIS.
  • Computer skills mandatory, proficient in MS Office.
Soft Skills
  • Strong interest in protecting the natural resources of Cambodia.
  • Strong analytical and interpretative problem-solving skills.
  • Willing to spend considerable time in remote areas, forest campsites when conducting field training and coaching activities.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, solid programming, strong coaching, and planning skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good commitment and working well with and contributing effectively to a multicultural team.
  • Good command of English language.
  • Willingness to obtain new skills.
