Communications Officer
Context of this Role
This position is open to all Cambodian Nationals or Overseas Cambodians for a two year period (probable extension) and there will be a 3 month trial period. After which, the position will undergo a reassessment. This reassessment should allow for this to be a more permanent position within the organization provided value is obtained within the 2 year period.
The position is based in Siem Reap with some travel required. This position offers a very good compensation package to the right person.
Full Mine Action training will be provided so that the communications officer can work effectively in this field.
- The main language for communication will be English. The communications officer will form part of the management team whose main role and duties are as follows:
- Conduct marketing strategy workshops.
- Produce annual marketing plans.
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement an effective communications strategy based on our target audience.
- Write, edit, and distribute content, including publications, press releases, website content, annual reports, speeches, and other marketing material that communicates the organization's activities, products and/or services.
- Prepare grants and proposals for potential funding institutions.
- Prepare and submit all Donor reports.
- Respond to media inquiries, arrange interviews, and act as a spokesperson for the organization.
- Seek opportunities to enhance the reputation of the brand, and coordinate publicity events as required.
- This position is for Cambodian Nationals or overseas Cambodians only as proficiency in both Khmer and English is essential. Additional requirements for the role are as follows:
- Some background or qualifications in marketing.
- A very high level of written and spoken English and Khmer.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, content management systems and social media platforms.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
