The Community Legal Education Center (CLEC) is a Cambodian non-governmental organization working to build legal empowerment to vulnerable communities affected by Land Natural Resources issues for access to justice and inclusive development. CLEC promotes the rule of law, democracy, and human rights by supporting the development of appropriate institutions of local and national justice, enhancing public knowledge and public participation of all, especially the affected communities, for effective engagement to uphold good governance on land and natural resources to achieve justice, peace and social harmony for all Cambodians.
The CLEC currently is seeking a qualified Cambodia national candidate to fill a position of Communication Officer to work for a project to support and participate in the promotion and protection of the environment through the REDD+ project in KSWS. The Communication Officer will have the following duties/responsibilities and meet the below requirements.
Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
Communication
Participate in the elaboration, implement and follow the annual communication plan
Ensure that CLEC communication charter and guidelines are respected and applied internally and externally. Digital Design & Production
Produce and design quality videos and photos
Update CLEC photo gallery
Conduct interviews (with communities, paralegal, CLEC staff, NGOs partners, stakeholders, etc.)
Produce diplomas and certificates, and communication tools (Banner, leaflet, poster, brochure) as needed.
Provide communication content required by donors
Save, organize and update all production and tools on the drives and share appropriate content and tools with CLEC teams.
Website & Social Media
Manage CLEC social media accounts (Facebook and Linked-In page: news, Welcome post, quote, promote partners, etc.) according to CLEC guidelines
Update the website as needed
Suggest ideas for increasing the online visibility. Written Production
Contribute to CLEC newsletter (1 article in English, every month)
Cover success stories of CLEC programs reporting purposes.
Event organisation & Coordination
Organize and/or support events and actions to promote the organization (Night shows, Training, Workshop,
Meeting, Annual Retreat/Reflection, Donor/Partner(s)’ visits, IP Day, HRD, etc.)
Liaise with all NGOs partners, stakeholders during the event planning process to ensure everything is in order
Manage all event set-up, tear down, and follow-up processes
Maintain the budgets for related events
Produce communication tools for the events (leaflets, agendas, posters, banners, etc.).
Public Relations
Be in charge of media relations
Attend all events internal and external representing CLEC Partnership Building & Fundraising
Support ED and MT in expanding the partners’ network
Create, maintain relationships with media partners
Support the other team members with their tasks when required and in their absence.
Others
Liaise with colleagues and work flexibly
Attend other events of CLEC when needed
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
Education:
Bachelor degree, preferably in Communication or Mass Communication or any other related degree
Professional Experience:
At least 1 year of professional experience in communications or journalism, photo editing and video making.
Skills:
Excellent English and Khmer writing skills
Excellent English verbal communication skills
Good knowledge of Community management (Social Media)
Good knowledge in communication and design tools is a plus (e.g. Photoshop, Premier)
Basic knowledge in Google Suite and Microsoft Office
Very good organizational skills
Ability to plan and prioritize own workload with minimum supervision
Languages:
Excellent English and Khmer communication skills
