The organization main focus areas encompass climate change mitigation and adaptation, reduction of energy poverty, and improvement of livelihoods. Geres carries out a range of activities, including implementing energy efficiency programs, providing decentralized energy services to foster local economic development, supporting and developing renewable energies, and promoting effective waste management. These activities are generally undertaken in collaboration with local stakeholders and communities, drawing upon shared experiences.

Communication and Stakeholder Engagement Officer

Position Summary

Duty station: Phnom Penh, with frequent filed work in the country

Duration: 7 Months Fix-Term Contract, renewable upon funding confirmation.

In the present context, the Communication and Stakeholder Engagement Officer (CSEO) will provide support to the project team by contributing to the development of communication plan and material development. The CSEO will also contribute various activities, from organization of events and workshops, to the development of social media content and the capitalization of communication material.

She/he will develop and support the delivery of stakeholder engagement and communication strategies and initiatives that promote the organization’s work, deliver engaging messages, help secure partnerships and enhance stakeholder relationships.

Conditions

The Communication and Stakeholder Engagement Officer duty station is located at Phnom Penh office. The CSEO will also conduct occasional field work in various provinces across the country. Additionally, there will be frequent meetings at partners or beneficiaries’ locations where the project(s) are being implemented. The CSEO will work closely with the project team(s). For financial and logistical matters related to activity implementation, the CSEO will regularly consult the HR/Finance and Administrative Manager.

Annual leave and other benefits are specified in the MIRR (Manual of Internal Rules and Regulations).

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • The CSEO work closely with the project team in effectively managing and implementing project activities as follows:
  • Communication activities:
  • Develop and support a communication strategy to support the delivery of organizational strategy and messaging to key stakeholders.
  • Ensuring communication social media remain current and relevant to the audience.
  • Oversee the development (design, translation, distribution, and management) of publications and electronics content.
  • Contribute to the development of communication plan and materials to consistently articulate key messages, strategy and mission to staff and external stakeholders.
  • Provide support to colleagues requiring advice and assistance on communication tools and processes for specific initiatives.
  • Lead and guide other team members to deliver engaging and high-quality communication materials.
  • Stakeholders Engagement, Workshop, visits and event organization activities:
  • Together with the logistic officer and the project team, contribute to the organization of workshops, events, webinars and visits activities, supporting the project activities.
  • Contribute to the identification of the relevant stakeholders to be involved in the event.
  • Manage the invitations, event check-list, the follow up and the venue.
  • Ensure the registration and data collection, as well as feedback forms to develop post-event reports on the effectiveness of each event.
  • Contribute to the identification and recruitment of external experts, technical project staff, and interns, providing regular feedback on the internal supplier list.
  • Support a programme of engagement initiatives to promote the activities and secure partnerships.
  • Capitalization
  • Assist the documentation of project evaluation and knowledge capitalization, focusing on impact and lessons learned and key deliverables.
  • Develop, organize and update internal picture, video, media and contact libraries
  • In cooperation with Geres Gender and inclusion expert (HQ) contribute to the mainstreaming of gender issues in the implementation of the project.
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a stakeholder engagement or communications role, or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully designing and delivering communication plans and content
  • Demonstrated Experience in development of social media content
  • Experience in the field of energy or technical related projects is a strong asset
  • Experience working with NGOs and cooperate with ministries and other development partners.
  • Education & Training
  • Bachelor or Master degree or proven extensive experience in related field.
  • Skills:
  • Very good autonomy, organization, coordination skills;
  • Outstanding writing, editing and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken) and Native Khmer are mandatory, Chinese is an asset
  • Inter-cultural communication skills;
  • Highly developed IT skills: proficiency in MS office (Word, Excel, PPT) and other design software.
  • Good social networking animation skills is an asset
