Child Sponsorship Coordinator

Duty Location: Poipet City, Battey Meanchey, Cambodia
The Child Sponsorship Coordinator is responsible for the effective planning, implementation, and monitoring of the Freedom’s Promise Child Sponsorship Program in Poipet. This role ensures the smooth coordination for the beneficiaries, maintains accurate and timely records, communicates impact stories, and collaborates with local staff and partners to support the holistic development of children and their families.
- Program Coordination
- Coordinate all activities related to the child sponsorship program, ensuring alignment with Freedom’s Promise mission and values.
- Work closely with director of social service, families, church leaders, community leaders and school staff to identify and assess children eligible for sponsorship.
- Monitor the welfare and progress of sponsored children through regular home visits, school reports, and partner feedback.
- Sponsor Communication & Reporting
- Collect and compile child updates, letters, photos, and impact stories in a timely and professional manner for sponsors.
- Ensure high-quality and consistent communication with sponsors children, and their families
- Prepare quarterly and annual reports, including child profiles and impact assessments.
- Data Management
- Maintain and update the child sponsorship database to ensure accuracy of child and sponsor information.
- Ensure proper documentation and secure storage of confidential information.
- Partnership & Collaboration
- Collaborate with Director of Social Service, Capacity Build Specially, school staff and family to ensure that children's physical, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs are being met.
- Monitoring & Evaluation
- Assist in designing and implementing systems to track the program’s outcomes and child development indicators.
- Participate in evaluations and assessments of program impact.
- Khmer - Fluent
- English - Fluent
- Bachelor's Degree in in social work, education, international development, communications, nonprofit management, or a related field.
- Experience in child sponsorship programs, community development, NGO or nonprofit project coordination for 2 years
- Experience working with children and families in vulnerable communities is often required.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to work cross-culturally
- Knowledge of child protection policies and practices
- Ability to manage databases and sponsorship software
- Basic financial or project reporting skills
- Photography, storytelling, or content-gathering skills can be a plus
- Willingness to travel to rural or remote areas
- Understanding of donor communication and reporting
- Fluency in local language(s) and English (or the organization’s primary language)
- A background check or clearance for working with children may be required
