TrUAC is a farmer organization based in Tramkak district, Takeo province. The union was established on October 01, 2021, and officially registered as a Union of Agricultural Cooperatives (UAC) on 24 November, 2021. TrUAC has 4 agricultural cooperatives (AC) as members who jointly develop and operate common businesses on a daily basis. TrUAC is currently led by 8 Board of Directors (BoDs) from all 4 ACs, and divided into 2 parts of the structure, one being the Executive Committee with 5 BoDs (including two women), and another being Internal Control Committee, which consists of 3 BoDs including one woman.

TrUAC is looking for a Business Development Facilitator (BDF) to implement activities supported by Uni4Coop’s Partnership for Agroecology Transition, Networking, and Efficient Resilience (PArTNER) project, which is funded by DGD (Belgian Government Funds) for 5 years from 2022 to 2026. The PArTNER project provides direct supports to farmer organization (FO) partners, with partial supports from partners and collaborators (NGOs, social enterprises, private companies, etc.). The project aims at enhancing FOs’ capacities in their business operation and management, promoting agroecology transition among its beneficiaries, strengthening their institutional functions, building market linkages for agroecological products, increasing access to finance, and improving gender equity in agricultural sector.

Business Development Facilitator

Position Summary

The position is for Tramkak Union of Agricultural Cooperatives (TrUAC) in Tramkak district, Takeo Province

Description of the Roles:

The BDF will be working directly under the supervision of the BoDs of TrUAC with the backstopping supports from Uni4Coop team. S/He will coordinate the work with representatives from the 4 AC members of TrUAC in Tramkak district, Takeo province. The main roles of the BDF are to ensure the businesses of TrUAC is in positive progress, the daily activities are well managed following procedures and requirements of Uni4Coop, and the communication between TrUAC and AC members/farmers and with stakeholders is strengthened.

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Support TrUAC in developing and executing business plans (business description, budgeting, market analysis and strategies, operating plans…)
  • Promote and link products of the TrUAC to markets
  • Support TrUAC in managing day-to-day activities in the areas of finance and administration
  • Build and maintain strong connection between TrUAC and potential stakeholders
  • Assist TrUAC’s BoDs to prepare activity reports, and financial reports using Microsoft Office software (Word and Excel), and submit to Uni4Coop on a quarterly basis
  • Assist Uni4Coop team to organize and facilitate training sessions and other events
  • Translate documents from English to Khmer and vice versa for TrUAC
  • Be a messenger to envoy letters to/ from TrUAC to communicate with other entities
  • Be an interpreter for meetings between TrUAC’s BoD with foreign donors and visitors.
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Bachelor degree in Business and Administration, Agriculture, Agribusiness or other related fields
  • At least 3 years of experience working with NGOs, farmer organizations, or private companies in the agricultural sector
  • Be able to work harmoniously with farmers from different backgrounds
  • Experience working with a multi-stakeholder platform in the agricultural sector in a coordinated manner
  • Strong networking skills
  • Strong English-writing skills with fair English-speaking skills
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, search engines and email…)
  • Independent, reliable, committed and hardworking
  • Be able to drive motorbike
  • A candidate who resides in Takeo province is preferred.
