IBIS Rice Conservation Co., Ltd. is an ethically-driven conservation enterprise working with Cambodian farmers to protect a precious and vulnerable ecosystem while growing premium organic jasmine rice. Through our initiative, hundreds of affiliated farmers are now the guardians of 500,000 hectares of remote national park and more than 60 threatened and endangered species in an area traditionally plied by loggers and poachers. We process and sell Wildlife Friendly and organic rice in Cambodia and internationally.

Announcement Positions

Agronomy Officer

Position Circumstances

Position Summary

Reporting to: Provincial Coordinator

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular farm visits to assess current agricultural practices, including soil management, pest control, and crop rotation, provide tailored technical advice, and support farmers in adopting or sustaining organic farming methods while ensuring compliance with organic standards.
  • Develop farm plans and crop rotation strategies that meet organic standards, enhance soil fertility, and optimize crop yields.
  • Train farmers on a range of topics including organic pest and disease management, soil fertility management, composting, appropriate input use, and other relevant technical aspects of organic farming.
  • Assist producer groups with land conversion processes, ensuring proper documentation, separation of organic and non-organic production units, and adherence to conversion timelines.
  • Promote the use of suitable organic inputs and advise farmers on their appropriate application.
  • Collaborate closely with Community Officers to integrate technical knowledge and recommendations into the producer groups' ICS.
Expected Profile of Candidates
Languages:
  • Khmer - Fluent
  • English - Good is preferred
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in agronomy, rural development, sustainable agriculture, agroforestry, soil science, or a related field
Work History:
  • Experience in agriculture, conservation, or community development, preferably with organic farming for 3 years as a minimum
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of agricultural cooperatives and organic standards.
  • Good report writing and data summarization.
  • Native Khmer speaker, good English (written and spoken) is preferred
Soft Skills
  • Ability to live in rural villages and travel by motorbike on rough roads.
  • Friendly, flexible, and skilled in training farmers and providing technical advice.
 
 

Internal Control System Officer

Position Summary

Reporting to Provincial Coordinator

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Conduct participatory training sessions, including field demonstrations, to educate IRPG on ICS procedures, such as accurate record-keeping, internal inspection methods, and protocols for addressing non-compliances.
  • Ensure farmers understand EU/NOP organic standards and documentation requirements for certification.
  • Assist producer groups in creating, implementing, and regularly updating their ICS Manual and internal organic standards.
  • Collaborate with IRPG Internal Inspectors to perform regular internal inspections, verifying compliance with organic standards through field assessments and documentation reviews.
  • Maintain and regularly update the list of producer group members, verifying eligibility based on farm size, annual turnover, and adherence to organic practices as defined by EU standards.
  • Verify traceability records comply with EU organic regulations for audit readiness.
  • Ensure all communications and submissions meet certification deadlines and standards.

Field Finance Officer

Position Circumstances

Position Summary
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Capacity Building & Producer Group Support
  • Conduct regular visits to provincial offices to provide hands-on financial coaching and training to producer groups (PGs).
  • Support PG’s to select and manage their internal accountant
  • Coordinate grant payments to PGs.
  • Strengthen the capacity of PGs in expense tracking, compliance with grant guidelines and their financial policy, as well as financial reporting.
  • Develop simple tools and guidelines to support PGs in managing project finances effectively.
  • Serve as a resource person to provincial teams on financial matters, and ensuring consistency with head office standards.
  • Coordination & Communication
  • Collaborate closely with Head of Impact, program managers, project staff, and finance colleagues to ensure accurate grant implementation and reporting.
  • Administration and Procurement
  • Facilitate the administration and logistics process for the field team and grant-related expenses
  • Coordinate procurement process for grant-related projects and field team
  • Ensure proper filling of financial related documents
