Private Sector Advisor
The Private Sector Advisor is based at the programme office in Phnom Penh, and s/he will ensure effective and efficient project activities under Output 3, which aims at increasing the capacities of agribusiness micro, small and medium enter-prises (MSMEs) and industry associations and federations (IAF) to add value in the pepper and cashew nut value chains in accordance with ASEAN and EU markets.
- The Private Sector Advisor is responsible for providing technical expertise and implementation and monitoring of project activities related to private sector support according to the commissioned objectives and indicators and in this context, s/he performs following tasks:
- Strengthening of commodity associations and federations through the improvement of business processes and services
- Facilitation of demand-driven training and coaching of selected MSMEs e.g. on business viability, to develop and implement bankable business plans, food safety, technical know-how, application of certification and traceability systems etc.
- Promotion of inclusive business models between producers, ACs and MSMEs, and larger purchasing companies, including through development partnerships with the private sector and with the integration of social and environmental due diligence requirements
- Fostering the linkages between the supported MSMEs and finance institutions
- Preparation of the calls for proposals for development partnerships with the private sector (matching grants), cooperation agreements, accompanying the implementation of development partnerships with the private sector and monitoring results
- Formal Education
- University degree (Masters) in economics, business administration or comparable qualification
- Professional experience
- At least 5 years of professional working experience in private sector development and MSME promotion
- Excellent knowledge of the Cambodian private sector, especially of the needs and challenges of MSMEs and their opportunities for growth
- Very good knowledge of the agri-business sector, social and environmental due diligence requirements
- Longstanding experience in the advice of MSMEs to improve processes, expand processing and access finance
- Experience in and with development aid projects
- Very good networking, moderation and facilitation skills
- Excellent communication skills facilitating collaboration to achieve joint objectives
- Proven ability to work in a team, also in intercultural contexts
- Excellent verbal and written English and Khmer language skills
- Other requirements
- Willingness to travel in Cambodia and to work and stay in the field
- Excellent command of MS-Office
- Good working knowledge of modern telecommunication systems
Administrative Assistant
The Administrative Assistant is responsible for managing and organizing documents and handling the preparation and submission of documents for review and quality assurance processes. He/she coordinates with various departments and ensuring smooth communication and workflow. He/she is responsible in providing support and assistance to colleagues and partners, including administrative tasks, managing correspondence, ensuring service delivery in accordance with regulatory requirements and maintaining the accuracy and thoroughness of work produced.
- Processes applications for visas and other necessary permits required by government institutions, by the German embassy and other official agencies for visits and stay of international experts and families in Cambodia and liaises closely with the Logistics Specialist for visa errands.
- Processes annual ID cards issued by MoFA for international experts.
- On request, advises projects on visa application requirements for official travel outside Cambodia.
- Provides information for experts and visitors, e.g. on transport services, hotels, travel agencies, etc.
- Arranges accommodation for arriving visitors, short-term and long-term experts on request, as advised by superior
- Supports in organizing of stay for foreign delegations, VIP visits (accommodation, travel plan, transport, etc.)
- Organises and coordinates as advised by superior, logistical aspects for planning, holding and documenting meetings, workshops, seminars and other events on request for GIZ Country Office and projects outside Cambodia
- Supports in arrangements for programmes for visitors, makes travel arrangements such as hotel reservations, transport etc. as advised,
- Maintains list of recommended hotels and catering companies and does regular updates
- BA in Business Administration or comparable qualification
- At least 2 years of professional working experience in a similar position
- Flexibility and adaptability, creativity and problem solving
- Computer skills: MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point, Internet and Email
- Communication skills, good English language skills, German language is an advantage
- Strong customer service orientation
