Call for Expressions of Interest (EoI) for the Business Development Service (BDS) Training

Training:
Training aims at capacity development of local experts on business development and access to finance for upgrading business operations in agri-food value chain including fisheries in Cambodia through training of trainers (ToT) approach. Trainings will be provided by highly qualified international and national experts. After completing all the training sessions, successful participants will be certified as BDS trainers.
Certified BDS trainers can be eligible for the CAPFish Project consultancy opportunities to train agri-food enterprises in Cambodia.
Training content:
Training plans to cover the following areas:
- business diagnostics, business plan development and implementation, including market, product and financial analysis; value addition and marketing strategy; and risk management;
- environmental and social safeguards (esp., gender aspects);
- financial literacy and access to finance, including risk management measures to avoid defaults on financial products.
Participants:
The current call for EoI targets following professionals:
- facilitators engaged in planning and implementing training interventions for new/existing entrepreneurs;
- consultants offering services to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME);
- educators from universities and development institutions;
- credit officers/ appraisal officers/ consultants from banks and (micro)financial institutions interested in improving the performance of their clients i.e., entrepreneurs who have obtained financial assistance;
- experts from industry or trade associations.
Bidder Eligibility
- Required and desired qualifications:
- University degree in economics, business administration, agribusiness, agri-food (fish) processing, and public management or any similar field;
- Full command of Khmer and English is required;
- Age requirements 25 to 50 years old (exceptions can be applied);
- Candidates who possess knowledge of the dynamics of MSME sector acquired through experience as trainers, consultants, professors/lecturers, appraisal officers, industry promotion officers, have an advantage;
- Candidates who have exposure to business environment of enterprises (entrepreneurial drives and drawbacks), preferably from running their own business, have an advantage;
- Energetic and analytically strong candidates are welcome;
- Female candidates are particularly encouraged to apply;
- Candidates shall be available for 5-day training and interested in consultancy opportunities.
