The Maryknoll Deaf Development Programme (DDP) has been operating in Cambodia since 1997. Our goal is to help deaf people be accepted, respected, and included as equals in all aspects of Cambodian society. We have six projects: Basic Education, Job Training, Sign Language Interpreting, Sign Language Development, Social Services, and Deaf Community Development. DDP has offices in Phnom Penh, Kampong Cham, and Kampot.
We are looking for one person to fulfill one position to be based in Phnom Penh

POSITION: I.T. Technician
STATUS: Full-time
LOCATION: Phnom Penh
DEPARTMENT: Administration
SUPERVISOR: Office Administrator

Nature of the Position
The I.T. Technician works within the administration department of the Deaf Development Programme (DDP) and is responsible for installation and maintenance and all operations associated with information technology, equipment, systems, and software.  The I.T. Technician will also assist other employees to resolve I.T. related problems.

Duties + Requirements
I.T. Technician
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining DDP I.T. hardware
  • Installing, configuring, and updating DDP software
  • Developing, installing, and maintaining a strong anti-virus and anti-malware system
  • Setting up and maintaining a wireless Local Area Network for DDP
  • Monitoring and maintaining the Internet connection with the ISP
  • Hardware and software troubleshooting, repair, and updating
  • Performing weekly data back up on all computers
  • Performing weekly checks on the performance of computers and virus security
  • Purchase of computers and other I.T. equipment
  • Establishing email accounts for appropriate staff
  • Maintaining records of hardware purchases and repairs
  • Setting up meeting rooms and events for computer/projector/multi-media use
  • Other tasks as assigned, and requested, by the Program Manager and Director
  • Bachelor degree in information technology or computer science
  • At least 2 years experience related to I.T. service and maintenance
  • Experience with hardware and software systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems
  • Experience with establishing and operating internet connections and networks
  • Commitment to the Deaf Development Programme’s guiding principles and values
  • Commitment to the Deaf Development Programme’s policies and procedures
  • Logical problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of Cambodian Sign Language, or to be willing to learn
  • Good written and spoken English skills
  • A positive attitude, professional behavior, and willingness to learn
  • Commitment to cultivating a good working relationship with other staff members
