Underproject supervisionthe Country Programme Manager, andmanagement oversight fromFFI HARVEST Coordinator,Watershed Management Specialist will provide technical inputsadvicethe developmentdistrict level watershed management committeesdevise simplereplicable water quality monitoring systemsbe implemented by communities. S/he will also provide technical inputsother forestry related HARVEST project activities.

Duties + Requirements
Watershed Management Specialist
 
  Duties
  • Work to deliver watershed management project activities and outputs according to the project contract, work plans and specific duties listed in project documentation
  • Lead on establishing provincial level watershed management committees at multiple sites in the Tonle Sap basin
  • Liaise with existing pilot watershed management initiatives, distil lessons learned and approach
  • Establish water quality monitoring techniques and frameworks, nesting them within local government
  • Work with national staff to design training materials and extension programme
  • Maintain relationships with project stakeholders, including communities, companies (where possible) and project partners
  • Build the capacity needs of national staff and project lead clients, developing formal educational or training programs or classes, and teaching or instructing others
  • Represent the project and FFI, as required, at national fora
  Requirements
  • MSc or equivalent level qualification/ experience in natural resource management, conservation, watershed management, or a related discipline
  • A minimum of four years’ experience in one of the above mentioned or related sectors
  • Experience in coordinating multiple integrated catchment management practices and approaches
  • Experience in developing water quality monitoring regimes within a catchment management context
  • Demonstrable experience in the mainstreaming of gender and youth in similar types of initiatives
  • Experience of working with international organisations
  • Knowledge of technical concepts relevant to integrated watershed management
