Watershed Management Specialist

Duties

Work to deliver watershed management project activities and outputs according to the project contract, work plans and specific duties listed in project documentation
Lead on establishing provincial level watershed management committees at multiple sites in the Tonle Sap basin
Liaise with existing pilot watershed management initiatives, distil lessons learned and approach
Establish water quality monitoring techniques and frameworks, nesting them within local government
Work with national staff to design training materials and extension programme
Maintain relationships with project stakeholders, including communities, companies (where possible) and project partners
Build the capacity needs of national staff and project lead clients, developing formal educational or training programs or classes, and teaching or instructing others
Represent the project and FFI, as required, at national fora

Requirements

MSc or equivalent level qualification/ experience in natural resource management, conservation, watershed management, or a related discipline
A minimum of four years’ experience in one of the above mentioned or related sectors
Experience in coordinating multiple integrated catchment management practices and approaches
Experience in developing water quality monitoring regimes within a catchment management context
Demonstrable experience in the mainstreaming of gender and youth in similar types of initiatives
Experience of working with international organisations
Knowledge of technical concepts relevant to integrated watershed management
