COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

Communications Coordinator playsimportant rolemaintaining accurate, updateeffective communication about CLA’s work. Working closelythe Communications Manager,Communications Coordinator will support productiondisseminationcommunications materialsour most important target groups.

Communications Coordinator will bemain person responsibleonlinesocial media communications (e.g. website , facebooktwitter)CLA. This will involve being awarethe work thatProgram Teamdoingcollecting extra informationteachers, studentspartnersshare. Online communications willmadeboth EnglishKhmer.

Communications Coordinator will also playcritical rolecommunicatingCLA’s students. This will include developing materialsimplementing initiativescollaborationCLA’s program teammake sure students are informedengagedCLA’s work,that we increasesensecommunity between them. There will alsoprogram specific communicationsbe made e.g. annual scholarship announcementCommunity Arts Retreat.

Coordinator will also supportCommunications Managerproducing printed marketingcommunications materials e.g. annual report, flyers, brochuresother collateral. Coordinator willresponsiblecoordinatingprinters, managing stock levelsmaterialsworkingmaterialsKhmer.

Coordinator will provide general supportinternalexternal communications. For example workingpress, producing newsletters, communicating about events. This partthe work willflexibleset byCommunications Manager.

PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Program Coordinatorpartthe team that manages CLA’s core programs: Community Arts EducationCapacity Building. Each coordinator inteamresponsiblemanagingset numberCLA’s teaching classes,organizingnumbercommunity workshops/ demonstrations andworking closelyselected Scholarship recipients fromscholarship program. 

Each Program Coordinatoralso assigned leadership responsibilityone aspectthe core program. For example, curriculum development, scholarship program management,professional development training. This willagreedthe Program Director. Lead Coordinator will work closelytheir other colleagues inProgram Team, but willresponsibledevelopingmain planapproachtheir initiative.

Program Coordinator will take full ownershipthe workproactively lead, managedevelopprojects s/he has been assigned.

Duties + Requirements
Communications Coordinator
 
  Duties
  • Follow CLA’s positioning of approachable, dynamic and traditional
  • Work with the Program Team, students and teachers to gather content and write effective, impactful copy for online communications
  • Submit drafts to Communications Manager for review and approval
  • Assist in developing materials for fundraising presentations and events
  • Support PR activities, including preparing text and visuals for press releases and meeting with journalists
  • Maintain and archive images and other materials recording CLA events and programs
  • Maintain up to date and accurate information on CLA’s website (in English and Khmer)
  • Make regular Facebook updates about CLA’s work (in English and Khmer)
  • Develop and maintain other social media tools (in English and Khmer)
  • Increase the effectiveness of online communications tools for engaging CLA’s students
  • Work with Program Coordinators and Communications Manager to plan and implement communications that will enhance CLA’s program work
  • Manage contracting and payment of PR and communications subcontractors (especially printers)
  • Manage stock levels of CLA’s printed materials and work with Facilities Supervisor to manage distribution
  • Ad hoc translation of communications/ program materials from English to Khmer and vice versa
  Requirements
  • Fluent Khmer and excellent English (spoken and written)
  • Accurate spelling and grammar in both English and Khmer
  • Able to write creatively and in different styles
  • Excellent inter-personal communications skills
  • Friendly, approachable and good listener; able to communicate effectively with people of different ages and backgrounds
  • Interest in Cambodian arts essential (experience in the arts desirable)
  • Bachelors Degree in relevant discipline an advantage
  • Flexible and able to work quickly and independently
  • Motivated, energetic and ambitious
  • Experience in web and social media essential
  • Experience of design and printing an advantage

 
Program Coordinator
 
  Duties
  • TEACHING CLASS MANAGEMENT
    • Monthly review meetings with teaching classes
    • Relationship management with teaching staff
    • Problem solving for teaching classes
    • Quarterly reporting on teaching class progress
    • Working with selected classes to make them sustainable independently of
      • Identifying classes ready for transition
      • Identifying community partners
      • Making a clear plan for transition
      • Working closely with the teaching staff to manage the transition
      • Building relationships with students
      • Recommending students for participation in Professional Development opportunities or Creative Industries program
    • Teaching class administration e.g. advance and reconciliation for class expenses
  • WORKSHOPS AND DEMONSTRATIONS
    • Organizing 3 workshops/ demonstrations for new communities each year
  • SCHOLARSHIP STUDENT MANAGEMENT
    • Relationship management with selected scholarship students
    • Monitoring progress of scholarship students
    • Supporting with quarterly scholarship student meetings
    • Relationship management/ administration for students’ places of study
    • Attendance at/ support in planning for annual Community Arts Retreat
  • SUPPORT FOR OTHER TEAMS
    • Providing regular updates and progress reports to the Communications Team
    • Linking students/ classes to work opportunities in Creative Industries
  • GENERAL
    • Collecting data and evidence in line with the monitoring and evaluation requirements of the program and project activities
    • Contributing ideas to planning and strategy sessions
    • Attendance at weekly team meetings and monthly staff meetings
  • SPECIALIZATION (COORDINATOR SIEM REAP)
    • As per the main job description, each Coordinator has one area of specialization that they lead.
    • For the Siem Reap Coordinator, during FY13, this responsibility will be a role in the Association of Young Artists Project. Specifically this includes
      • Organising a program of arts visits/ activities for members of the club ‘Krom Selapak Akpiwad’
      • Arranging for speakers/ networking events with members of the tourism sector
      • Supporting with coordination for bringing a group of young artists from Siem Reap to the Youth Arts Festival in Phnom Penh in November 2012
    • The Program Coordinator in Siem Reap will also have some additional responsibilities related to Creative Industries Program
      • Organising Cultural Ambassadors for Living Arts Tours bookings
      • Occasional support for Creative Industries Team in organizing performance opportunities in Siem Reap
      • Basic administration related to product sales
      Requirements
    • Knowledge of Khmer art forms an advantage
    • Experience of working in community settings
    • Fluent written and spoken Khmer
    • High level of proficiency in written and spoken English
    • Organised and accountable
    • Strong communication skills
