Community Social Worker (CSW)
Duties
- RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS
- Support project teams working with our service users and their families
- Meeting with potential service users and making an assessment of their needs
- Coordinate M&E of the student/family relationship as instructed by the Project Manager
- Provide clear and accurate information and feedback to families of workshop participants / special education students
- Coordinate and implement any parent group meetings as instructed by the Project Manager
- Report issues with families, students and staff to line manager on a monthly basis (more often in case of emergency)
- Support families to ensure that children have access to medical care where available, including supporting with referrals to other services
- Support those who have completed training or workshops at Epic Arts to make future plans for work or further training
- Work with project teams to develop life skills workshops for young people on issues relevant to them (e.g. relationships, drugs, alcohol, safety etc)
- Responding to emergency situations as appropriate, ensuring that priority cases are dealt with in a timely manner
- Facilitate communication within Epic Arts
- Work with project teams to clarify and define relationships with students/ service users and their families
- Coordinate with deaf interpreter to be aware of and responsive to the needs of the deaf staff members, students within Epic Arts
- Work with relevant staff to develop and facilitate internal training if necessary
- Work with relevant staff to develop update our Child Protection Policy
- Work with relevant staff to ensure that all at Epic Arts are aware of the Child Protection Policy
- Maintaining accurate records of service user information, including developing and updating our current database
- Ensuring information is shared effectively with the relevant staff whilst maintaining confidentiality
- Coordinate with Local Authorities and Partner Organisations
- Linking with local authorities, including but not limited to
- Communicate with local authorities and maintain relationships with the local authorities, including the Offices of Social Affairs, Culture and Fine Arts and Education
- Establish and maintain links with key local government officials, commune chiefs and village chiefs in order to introduce them to Epic Arts’ work
- Raise awareness about the rights of PwD
- Advocate and explain clearly about the challenges faced by PwD, providing options for how these issues can be resolved
- Provide information about how PwD in the community can attend events at Epic Arts
- Provide information to enable local authorities to refer people with disabilities in to other services and NGOs as appropriate
- Working with partner organisations
- Link with other disability organisations in Cambodia, including attending networking meetings
- Link with medical organisations and hospitals in the area to collect information about the services they provide
- Refer PwD to services provided by partner NGOs or hospitals
- Coordinate with relevant organisations regarding any legal cases involving our service users, ensuring it passed on to the appropriate organisation
