Advocacy & Outreach Officer
Duties
- Preparing and submitting quarterly accomplishment reports
- Provide training workshop for staff, key stakeholders and beneficiary representatives to develop advocacy strategy
- Provide technical and resource support to advocacy group to engage in advocacy and lobbying activities (including radio broadcasts, workshops for government service providers and community based actions)
- Provide training and orientation CYMCA child protection policy to staff and stake holders
- Assure the child protection policy set out by CYMCA is properly shared and applied within CYMCA and all the stakeholders
- Establish and train advocacy group comprising of current and former street youth, community members, outreach workers and key YMCA staff
- Form and support meeting of the Community Care and Support Children Committee to better support for living, education, health and shelter for children
- Planning workshops for families and communities on social issues such as legal rights and parenting skills
- Develop and preparing training and conducting campaigns on social services
- Work closely with the Community Care and Support Children Committee to provide Technical Supports
- Communicate with NGOs, local governments, Sangkats, Villages leaders Good interpersonal communication skill demonstrated ability establish effective fruitful relationship government, development partners (IOs NGOs) other stakeholders
- Perform any other duties as assigned and/or directed by the Project Manager
Requirements
- At least Bachelor degree relevant disciplines: Law, agronomy, Social Science, Social work counseling, community development, Psychology, Management, equivalent combination education proven work experience
- Minimum of 3 years with NGOs involving in community development and Advocacy work for community base and national action
- Strong communication, facilitation and negotiation skills
- Strong Lobbying skills to related sectors
- Excellent organization skills with proven ability prioritize tasks and demonstrated experience strategic planning
- Strong analytical skills and proven knowledge and/or experience these areas
- Child Labor, Child abuse, Disability issues, trafficking, HIV/AIDS/ Domestic Violence
- Excellent of Proficiency spoken & written English
- Excellent computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, internet)
- Strong commitment and Honest team worker strong ethical values, sense responsibility demonstrated accountability
- Ability to take the initiative and work independently without constant supervision and productively with a diverse of team member
- Ability to work under pressure, highly self-motivated and creative and learning new skills
- Personal character: Model a high standard of personal integrity, maturity, and behaviour in line with YMCA Cambodia VMG, Christian identity and policies as an example to staff volunteers, members and to external contacts
- Christian commitment is preferred
