Agriculture Technical Project Manager
Duties
- Assist the Program Manager to identify needs and opportunities for ministry in the target villages
- Assist the project manager as required to plan, organize, monitor, evaluate and report project activities.
- Supervise the Seeds of Hope team in the implementation of the technical activities in , Kampong Chhnang and Pursat.
- Organize the beneficiaries and partners to develop the activities of the project following Community Development Education (CHE) principles.
- Direct the selection of beneficiaries.
- Provide technical training and assistance to project field officers, beneficiaries and partners.
- Select and purchase quality seeds, saplings etc. for the beneficiaries.
- Carry out the tasks and coordination in the field that are required for the development of the project according to the plan of the organization e.g. M&E and program sustainability.
- Be able to work with community agriculture volunteers and if need be train volunteers in agriculture by enrolling them in training institute.
- Provide leadership, mediating conflicts and encouraging participation of SOH staff
- Act as a link between the community, local government and other agencies.
- Identify community issues, needs and problems.
- Prepare computer written progress reports of the field work.
Requirements
- Agree to and follow the mission statement of Samaritan’s Purse.
- Degree in agronomy or crop science with Master’s degree in a related field.
- At least 2 years experience in a job position relating to family agriculture, and community development.
- Good knowledge of sector activities and agencies
- Previous experience with NGOs or international agencies. (If only has a Bachelor degree then minimum 4 years previous NGO or other international agency experience).
- Good spoken and written English.
- Excellent computer skills including MS Word & Excel.
- Excellent character, integrity and attitude.
