Duties + Requirements

Counselor

Duties

3 Working places: IPD Ward and OPD in KC PRH and patients Home Base Care in KC province
Provide counseling and Health education to the patients in the different working places
Assist with a system of contact tracing all NTM patients
Identify and support the patient’s social problems
Facilitate Support Groups for NTM patients and caregivers
Create and consolidate NTM Peer patient group sessions
Ensure follow-up and home visits for the Home Base care
Develop, attend and participate in NTM Patient Care meetings
Work closely with the patient’s family and the MSF team
Educate all patients about NTM infection and treatment
Work in collaboration with all MSF and MOH staff
Collect monthly data and statistics on counseling activities

Requirements

Social or medical background with knowledge of TB
Interest to work with TB and non-tuberculosis mycobacteria (NTM) patients
Fluent in Khmer and English
High Interpersonal/human relations skills
Willingness to work and interested in the Tuberculosis and NTM issue in Cambodia
Demonstrate ability to show initiative and adaptability
Readiness to travel across the Kampong Cham province on an on-going basis
Interest in ongoing health promotion and patient advocacy
Computer skills: Word and Excel

	Non-Tuberculosis Mycobacterium (NTM) infections in a Referral Tuberculosis treatment centre in Kampong Cham Médecins sans Frontières is a medical and humanitarian organisation that provides assistance to population in distress, victims of natural and man-made disastThe details of this job was taken from the web site Bong Thom dot Com (www.BongThom.com)ers and to victims of armed conflict irrespective of race, religion, creed or political convictions. Epicentre and the French section of MSF will be conducting a study to determine the prevalence of non-tuberculosis mycobacteria isolated in sputum specimens of pulmonary TB suspects and the prevalence of NTM disease among TB suspects in the TB chest clinic of the Kampong Cham Provincial Referral Hospital. In addition, they will set-up a prospective observational cohort of patients receiving treatment for NTM lung disease.
