Good Return is an initiative of World Education Australia Ltd. which partners with microfinance agencies across the Asia Pacific region. The goal of the Good Return program is to provide a sustainable means for low-income people in the Asia Pacific region to improve their lives through access to microfinance and skills development opportunities. Good Return is seeking to recruit a Cambodia Program Coordinator with strong financial literacy / small business training skills. The role of the Cambodia Program Coordinator is to coordinate partnership activities between Good Return and its partner Thaneakea Phum Cambodia Ltd (TPC), manage implementation of activities, and build TPC’s training capacity. The person will be employed by World Education Cambodia and will be seconded full-time to the Good Return program, working within TPC.

Location: Based in Kampong Cham, but also working in Phnom Penh and other districts in Cambodia to be determined. Considerable field work is required.
Duration: 2 years, full-time, with potential for extension.
Salary: The salary range for this position is $850-$1000 plus benefits

Duties + Requirements
Program Coordinator / Financial Literacy Training Specialist
  • Lead the establishment of a Client Training Program at TPC (focused on financial literacy and small business management training) and build capacity of TPC staff to perform this role (50%)
  • Coordinate and report on all partnership activities between Good Return and TPC (20%)
  • Support the strengthening of TPC’s social and environmental performance management, potentially including promotion of renewable energy (20%)
  • Manage TPC activity on the Good Return loan portal website (10%)
  • A passion for community development and training
  • Extensive experience as a nonformal education trainer, preferably in small business management and/or financial literacy in a village context
  • Experience designing, monitoring and evaluating projects
  • Experience and success in managing a team of people
  • University degree or equivalent
  • Good written and spoken English language skills
  • Strong communication skills, able to communicate easily with a wide range of people
  • Be self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Microfinance experience is desirable
  • Experience in agriculture, environmental awareness and/or renewable energy will be considered favourably
