Community WatSan Officer
Duties
- Carry out assessments and make recommendations in relation to the existing water and sanitation structure in target villages
- Support the Public Health Engineer in the repair of water systems in the target villages
- Work closely with the HPA Public Health Engineer, the Provincial Department of Rural Development (PDRD) unit staff and other relevant local authorities to establish, equip, train, and support Water User Groups (WUGs) in the target areas
- After training, carry out regular water quality monitoring, in collaboration with the WUGs
- In collaboration with the Provincial Department of Rural Development (PDRD) and other relevant stakeholders support the establishment of a provincial level water repair and maintenance system
- In coordinate with relevant staff members to develop, produce and disseminate IEC pictorial materials on safe water and hygiene practices, and provide training for health facility staff, VHSG members, community members and women’s health group members
Requirements
- High school graduate and/ or other formal training (at college level)
- At least 2 years progressive experience of working with communities in water and sanitation
- Strong community level facilitation skills specifically on WASH and Education
- Experience in developing and implementing trainings
- Driving license (motor or car)
